Nailene Acrylic Nails Kit (DIY) Review

I recently tried the Nailene Acrylic Nails Kit. It includes everything you need to do your own acrylic nails and the instructions were easy to follow and understand. However, this is not a “quick” process. It took almost two hours for me to get all of the acrylic nails done and dry. I recommend that you buy a harder and bigger brush to put the acrylic on your nails. I also recommend that you buy an electronic nail buffer. It is absolutely awful trying to smooth and shape dried acrylic nails with a regular manual nail filer that they give you in the kit. In the picture above, I used pink sparkle tips that I purchased off of Amazon (not included in the kit). In the kit, you get a set of white french manicure tips and a couple sets of natural nail tips.

I really enjoy doing my nails myself, but if you don’t have the patience, I wouldn’t recommend DIY acrylic nails.

When I get my acrylic nails done at a salon, they usually last for months (with touch-ups.) The DIY nails only lasted for a little over a week. They do not hold as well as professionally done nails. I did not have any problems with the acrylic chipping though. They just didn’t want to stick. I  used the kit in total of 3 full sets of acrylic nails. The first time, the acrylic was easy to apply, but I found that the second and third time it was not. The acrylic seemed to dry up…or get old. I don’t know how to describe it, but it just wasn’t the same! lol

This is definitely a cheaper alternative (around $20) to getting your nails professionally done.  I recommend this product if you really like to do and try new things with your nails and have patience. However, if you don’t want to spend 2 hours doing your nails, this is not a kit for you!

Clarisonic Mia Review

I recently was given the Clarisonic Mia as a Valentine’s Day gift. I am in LOVE!

When you first receive your Clarisonic. It will come in a cute carrying case, a charger, a cleansing head, a head cover, and a sample size cleanser from Clarisonic.

Let’s get the negatives out of the way first. My skin did not like the Clarisonic cleansing wash. The first two days, I used the cleansing wash and everything was fine. I thought it was a decent cleanser but then I got an awful breakout of tiny red pimples all around my mouth and on my cheeks. It looked awful and it was painful. That could just be that I’m allergic to it though.

I love the carrying case that came along with the product. It is so cute and it makes it easy to pack your clarisonic for travel. The clarisonic heads are suprising gentle on your skin. I figured it would be an abrasive cleaning, but it wasn’t! It is soft and gentle and leaves your skin feeling oh so clean! It unclogs my pores, removes dirt, oil, and makeup, removes dead skin, and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

I did not realize how much I was gonna love this thing. I’m completely addicted to it! It is beyond Fantastic!image
