Nailene Acrylic Nails Kit (DIY) Review

I recently tried the Nailene Acrylic Nails Kit. It includes everything you need to do your own acrylic nails and the instructions were easy to follow and understand. However, this is not a “quick” process. It took almost two hours for me to get all of the acrylic nails done and dry. I recommend that you buy a harder and bigger brush to put the acrylic on your nails. I also recommend that you buy an electronic nail buffer. It is absolutely awful trying to smooth and shape dried acrylic nails with a regular manual nail filer that they give you in the kit. In the picture above, I used pink sparkle tips that I purchased off of Amazon (not included in the kit). In the kit, you get a set of white french manicure tips and a couple sets of natural nail tips.
I really enjoy doing my nails myself, but if you don’t have the patience, I wouldn’t recommend DIY acrylic nails.
When I get my acrylic nails done at a salon, they usually last for months (with touch-ups.) The DIY nails only lasted for a little over a week. They do not hold as well as professionally done nails. I did not have any problems with the acrylic chipping though. They just didn’t want to stick. I used the kit in total of 3 full sets of acrylic nails. The first time, the acrylic was easy to apply, but I found that the second and third time it was not. The acrylic seemed to dry up…or get old. I don’t know how to describe it, but it just wasn’t the same! lol
This is definitely a cheaper alternative (around $20) to getting your nails professionally done. I recommend this product if you really like to do and try new things with your nails and have patience. However, if you don’t want to spend 2 hours doing your nails, this is not a kit for you!
